I recently enjoyed a family stay at the Chequers, and it proved to be an excellent choice for our gathering. We arrived on a bustling mid-week evening, and the lively atmosphere was a great start to our celebrations. The pub/restaurant's extensive menu provided something for everyone, with the roast and everyday options delighting our diverse tastes. We were seated comfortably in the charming restaurant environment, and as we ordered, it became clear that the portion sizes were generous, ensuring everyone left satisfied. The meat on my roast was tender, highlighted by rich flavors—a meal we all appreciated. The kids had plenty of space to move around, and the patio access was a pleasant feature for a little outdoor time post-lunch. Despite a minor hiccup with our server’s initial demeanor, the overall experience was seamless, and we truly felt at home. The Chequers’ amenities, including the ample parking and stylish rooms, added to the convenience of our visit. I’d recommend it for families. It serves as a lovely base for both casual catch-ups and special occasions without the fuss.
